Your story has a very good start! It will interesting to see how you end it!

I've seen several tornadoes destroy much property and lives where I've lived.

I lived in a town (Cullman, AL) in which large sections were almost completely wiped out by huge tornadoes many years ago in 1974. Wind speeds were in excess of 200mph, and over 77 people - the most of any state - lost their lives in Alabama because of it.

Then again, years later in 1989, I lived in another larger city (Huntsville, AL) that was devastated by a huge tornado. There alone, 21 people lost their lives. Damages were estimated over $100 Million.

Imagine, if you can, what it would be like to see a building the size of city hall completely destroyed... so that not one brick was left stacked atop another.

Fires were caused from leaking natural gas lines, fuel from gasoline stations poured all over the ground, and live power lines charged the very ground.

It was very dangerous!

And then, how do you help people when the resources used to do so are destroyed?

Now, I have an interest in helping people by participating in Emergency Management Services, Amateur Radio, as a Volunteer Firefighter and through Nursing.

In some way, I think that perhaps my interest in helping people may have been initiated by being exposed to such events as a young boy and young man.
